24 Hours to Summit the tallest mountains in the UK

After working with Vodafone Foundation for a few years delivering fundraising events around cycling and running challenges, in 2017 we mixed it up by challenging employees to complete the National Three Peaks Challenge.

What did Threshold recommend?

With the aim of raising money for the Foundation, Vodafone employees had to summit the three highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours.

The base of Ben Nevis saw the participants ready and waiting to take on the challenge. Supported by fully qualified mountain guides, they had nothing to worry about other than scaling the tallest peak in the UK. In between mountains, the participants had nourishing food waiting for them and got some rest on the transport from peak to peak in comfortable shuttle buses.

How did we do?

• Through a combination of participant fundraising and sponsorship donations, the Vodafone Foundation achieved their fundraising targets.
• The participants tackled some tough weather conditions but kept each other motivated on each summit and were rewarded with some spectacular views and a celebratory dinner.
• The fastest group completed the challenge in 22 hours 53 minutes and the slowest in 23 hours 37 minutes.
