Lessons for Life/Street Child funds educations projects in Africa and work towards giving every child an education which equips them for life. Whether that be working with the children themselves or helping the schools and communities.
They came to Threshold to put on their ‘Big Ride for Africa’ in Cologne, Germany. Their priorities, to raise as much money as they could and engage with the amazing staff from Liberty Global
What did Threshold recommend?
Threshold suggested an accessible event for all abilities to take part in. The three options were a one or two day A-A duathlon, a cycle ride (with three available distances) and a run/walk on trails for either half or full marathon distances.
This allowed each participant to choose based on what they thought was challenging enough to raise money but also gave them a good chance of accomplishing it. In addition to the challenge we also set up a comfortable basecamp for the participants to start, finish and relax in the evenings.
To make the experience as positive as possible we supplied hot showers, chill out zones, massages, hot food, bottomless drinks, a gin bar and many other services
